My Workflow for Technical SEO & SEO Plans
When contacting businesses I offer two plans, (a)Technical SEO fixes and SEO Plans for businesses. There is a big difference for both and i wanted to detail those differences in this blog post. Pretend I am a GYM Trainer. You are joining the Maraguz Web Design “gym” to improve your (website) health. The technical SEO plan is an introduction to how I work and the results i can bring to optimizing your website. But it is not a long term solution, specially if you want to show up on google search first page. Technical SEO fixes will help in the short term BUT to keep the results going you are going to have to keep showing up to the “gym”. To keep your results, you will need a long term implementation, a plan. Of course every business website is different but here is what an SEO plan can look like for an E-Commerce website. To get your business to show up on that first page for Google search results here is a concise breakdown of a plan:
Keyword Research: Identify relevant keywords specific to your products or services. Consider long-tail keywords that reflect user intent.
Competitive Analysis: Analyze competitors’ strategies, keywords, and backlinks. Learn from their successes and gaps.
Site Design and Navigation:
- Ensure a user-friendly interface with clear navigation.
- Optimize product categories and filters for search engines.
On-Page SEO:
- Optimize product pages:
- Use descriptive titles and meta descriptions.
- Include high-quality images and unique product descriptions.
- Compress Images and change to WebP format.
- Implement schema markup for rich snippets.
- Optimize URLs, headers, and internal linking.
- Optimize product pages:
Technical SEO:
- Improve site speed (critical for e-commerce).
- Fix broken links and ensure proper redirects.
- Optimize mobile responsiveness.
- Create an XML sitemap and submit it to search engines.
- Implement canonical tags.
Local SEO:
- Optimize for local searches if you have physical stores.
- Claim and optimize your Google My Business listing.
Content Marketing:
- Regularly publish high-quality blog posts related to your products.
- Create informative guides, FAQs, and how-to content.
Link Building:
- Build high-quality backlinks from relevant websites.
- Collaborate with influencers or industry partners.
SEO is an ongoing process. Regularly monitor performance, adjust strategies, and stay up-to-date with search engine algorithm changes. Aka you have to keep going to the “Gym” to see and keep your results. Terchnical SEO fixes are great to getting your PageSpeed insight scores up but you will also need an SEO plan to show up on that first page of Google search results for your product.
